Primo Passo has filled its first day of fair in New York among several other young companies from Italy at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in the picture. Among the visitors of our stand there were some amazing encounters: a lady from Australia who is about to launch her rural business and who came to me to gather tips and inspiration;
An old couple from Middletown who came just because our company is from Melilli, the motherland from where, after war, they had to depart in misery looking for the American dream. I almost dropped in tears for the joy to bring the flavours and fragrance of such fertile land back to its beloved citizens from overseas.
Finally to end with an happy note, last encounter was a breathless beautiful Italian lady working at a nearby stand who was kind enough to listen to my permaculture believes and love for honey bees.
Still two days to go, stay tuned!

At Primo Passo Sea Garden every plant has more than one purpose.
This aromatic plants live by the seaside with little water, if any, during Summer. They are oily and flowerish from May till October. Not only they provide an excellent source for feeding bees, but their fragrant flowers are stocked in the B&B to refresh its rooms and their bathrooms. Less chemicals more Naturals, that’s the motto.
Enjoy the picture of the day, inside outside. Continue reading

Visit at the II world war Augusta defensive bunker
Augusta was and is a military port. Now it hosts submarines and Italian Navy but it was a defensive strategic habour during the II world war. This picture is what remains of the German and Italian Bunkers digged under the coastline to defend the city from the British Navy. When the British Warships came at the horizon however the troups retreated and not a single shot was heard from the cannons which were placed on top of the cast iron and concrete platforms. Unfortunately it was not a sign of defeat and peace. The troups retreated on the mountains as they were well aware of the unbalance overseas. The battle of Primosole bridge was extrenous and bloody for both sides as it lasted for weeks till final defeat. Many young soldiers from Germany Italy and Great Britain came here to rest forever. Today they lay on separate cemeteries not far from each others near the ground of the battle. Here in the picture is a part of what you can still experience of that sad moments.
